What BUYING LOCAL means: For Every $100 dollars spent in a locally owned business like ours, $68 dollars returns to our community through taxes, payroll and other expenditures.

This hardware and general merchandise store opened in January of 1909 by a local gentleman, Louis Corde. Mr. Corde was a progressive citizen and a good businessman. Dan's Grandfather Charles W. Boudreaux worked for Mr. Corde in the early years of this business. After the death of Mr. Corde in the late 1930's, Charles W. Boudreaux purchased the store from Mr. Corde's family. The store was then named Boudreaux's Hardware. Charles W. Boudreaux worked in the store alone selling hardware, merchandise, school books and offered services such as replacing spokes on bicycle tires. When Charles W.'s oldest son returned home from World War II he began working with his father in the hardware store. In 1946, Charles A. Boudreaux purchased the store from his father and eventually began selling more hardware. As a child, Dan Boudreaux worked in the store with his grandfather and his uncle. When he was very young, Dan knew he wanted to own his own business. In 1974, at the age of 22, Dan purchased Boudreaux's Hardware from his Uncle. Dan is the third generation to own Boudreaux's Hardware, now doing business as Dan Boudreaux's ACE Hardware, Lumber and Rental.

In 1976, Dan joined ACE Hardware and the old wooden store built in the 1890's was replaced by a 400 square foot metal building allowing a larger display of merchandise. Dan states that the old time values are still a major part of our success, however, we do have to adapt to change. After purchasing surrounding properties in 1989, the store grew into a 10,000 square foot do-it-yourself center. In the past few years the store has expanded its construction retail by adding a rental center, Benjamin Moore paints, a growing lumber yard including a wide selection of windows and doors. In 2006, a home interior design area was added to the business along with lighting and plumbing fixtures, counter tops and flooring. Expansion is definitely the key to continue to meet the needs of the community and the surrounding area.

Now many years later, Dan, his wife Cindy, and operations supervisor Ian Simoneaux along with a great support team all employees strive each day to service this area with pride in product.
